Super-insulated Raft Foundations

ICF super-insulated raft foundations offer many benefits over conventional foundations:

Greater thermal efficiency - 200mm of XPS insulation on a 250mm thick RC slab gives a U-Value of 0.11W/M2K
Greater build efficiency - insulation and radon protection are integral to the structure rather than an additional internal process, saving on build time and simplifying project programming.

ICF Basements

One of the biggest benefits of ICF construction is the relative ease with which one can build uncompromising underground superstructures without the need for heavy plant and shuttering systems. With the increased cost and availability of land, designers are turning to basements as a means of maximising the footprint of buildings and basements are the obvious result.

An integral part of any basement is the need for a comprehensive and failproof waterproofing system. As part of the design process, we provide and install a complementary waterproofing system, specifically tailored to individual requirements.

In short, Stanchura provide what is arguably the most thorough and cost effective basement system available in the UK.

Structural Waterproofing

We provide a full structural waterproofing service with CSSW accreditation (Certificated Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing), encompassing:

Site assessment
Liaison with appropriate stakeholders eg. client, architect, structural engineer
Provision of a detailed structural waterproofing plan
Installation of recommended solution with 10 year insurance backed guarantee.

ICF Superstructures

We have been providing ICF construction services for 18 years.

We generally come into the build process when groundworks are being undertaken, constructing whatever ICF superstructure is required from foundation to wall plate level, then handing over to roofers and other trades to complete the project. In our experience, the speed of this approach benefits all stakeholders.

Increasingly, as ICF has grown in popularity with builders and

self-builders we also provide an ICF consultancy, training and supply service.

Swimming Pools

Heating swimming pools is always a factor in running costs and an XPS clad pool is by far the most efficient long-term option for keeping the cost of heating to a minimum.

Major benefit of our pool system is the monolithic nature of the concrete superstructure which automatically creates a completely waterproof pool. By pouring the slab and rising walls in a single concrete pour, the structural integrity of the pool is significantly increased as well as the watertightness.

Multiple options for finishing the internal surfaces of the pool from pool liners to ceramics and spray applied finishes. This includes the polystyrene stripped off to leave a concrete finish to fix to, or the alternative of leaving the XPS on and retaining even more of the cost savings associated with pool heating.
